COUNSELING SERVICES

INDIVIDUAL COUNSELING

In individual psychotherapy, or talk therapy, a mental health treatment professional works with the patient or client on a one on one basis. The primary goal of individual therapy is to increase the understanding of the individual's thoughts and behavior patterns to help increase function and well-being. In therapy, most people learn how to effectively manage stress, interpersonal difficulties and troubling situations. They will also develop abilities to make healthy decisions, set goals and become more self-aware.

COUPLES COUNSELING

Marriage or couples counseling is typically a brief, solution-focused type of therapy. Therapists can help couples lay out their respective opinions about issues, such as managing finances, division of household labor, work, sex, and raising and disciplining children. The counselor will help you and your partner explore, identify, and refine what you want to get out of counseling. Goals should be realistic, specific, and attainable. Couples therapy ideally requires participation from you and your partner.

FAMILY COUNSELING

Family therapy is a type of treatment designed to help with issues that specifically affect families' mental health and functioning. It can help individual family members build stronger relationships, improve communication, and manage conflicts within the family system. Some of the primary goals of family therapy are to create a better home environment, solve family issues, and understand the unique issues that a family might face.
