My passion for counseling is deeply rooted in my cultural background and personal experiences. As a first-generation Palestinian-American, I understand the unique challenges that can come with seeking mental health support, especially within minority communities. Growing up, mental health was often a foreign concept, and it wasn’t until later that I realized the importance of making mental health care accessible to all. This realization fuels my dedication to breaking down barriers and increasing awareness about mental health, particularly in underserved communities.
I believe everyone deserves quality care, and I am committed to creating a safe, supportive space where individuals of all backgrounds feel heard, validated, and empowered. I specialize in working with individuals facing mood and anxiety disorders, eating disorders, PTSD, ADHD, adjustment disorders (such as transitions related to new jobs, relationships, or relocation), and issues related to sexual assault, domestic violence, and self-injury.
I understand that taking the first step toward therapy can be difficult, and I commend your courage. I want to help you feel comfortable and supported in your journey toward well-being, and I am here to offer the tools and space you need to create meaningful, lasting change.
I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Texas State University and a Master’s of Education in Mental Health Counseling from the University of Houston.
